Orange-Pecan French Toast

Recipe from the kitchen of Legacies Bed and Breakfast

Ingredients:
8 oz. loaf of 1-inch sliced French bread, 1/3 C butter, ½ C chopped pecans.
Whisk together:
4 eggs, 2/3 C orange juice, 1/3 C milk, ¼ C orange liqueur (Triple Sec), ¼ C sugar, 1 tablespoon grated, orange rind, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg.

Directions:
Place bread in large pan. Pour whisked mixture over it and refrigerate overnight, turn once. In morning, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Melt butter and pour into Teflon jelly roll pan. Place soaked bread on the pan and sprinkle chopped pecans over bread. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Serve with warm maple syrup. Serves four.
